Skunk Removal in Bristol, CT

I recently received a call from a church in Bristol, Connecticut. A skunk had gotten into the parish basement below some kindergarten classrooms. Two teachers had gone downstairs to get some supplies when they saw the skunk walk across the back of the room.

Nowhere to be Seen

By the time I arrived, the skunk had entered a storage room filled with boxes, bags and other items, but was nowhere to be seen. It took some investigating but I eventually located the skunk. He had tucked himself into some bags and blankets. Being indoors with classrooms above, I didn’t want to risk a physical removal and the likely result of a panicked skunk, so I began setting traps.

Likely to Spray

As I proceeded, the skunk came out and started walking towards me. I realized that he had been in there for quite a while and was hungry and thirsty. Yet, when the skunk saw me he displayed signs warning that, if I continued to bother it, it would likely spray. Fortunately, I was able to talk the skunk out of that.

Experience Wins Out

I didn’t get to finish setting the traps because the skunk was adamant about getting some food. Utilizing a technique in which I lured it more quickly to the trap’s opening, I was able to remove it from the premises without issue.

With experience, skill and a little luck, I was able to complete the whole process in about 30 minutes. The parish was extremely happy that they had called Natures Edge Wildlife Control.
